Back in the day, I used to build websites by writing all the html by hand (yeah, that was long ago… even had to download httpd server code from MIT to get things running). These days you don’t even need to know any code, just how to click, drag, and drop when using apps or services that make it so easy.
I discovered WordPress, not as a blogging tool, but as a content management tool. WordPress can be a very powerful way to manage data and media, with an interface that is easy to navigate on the backend. This makes it an easy way for non-tech-savvy people to manage their own sites once set up. Depending on the project, I use a variety of tools (dreamweaver, wordpress, osCommerce) to set up sites for small businesses.
